Some of you may not be able to recognize any of the names in the title above, let me feel you in real quick. Thundercat is an artist/musician who has worked with some dope artists such as Erykah Badu, Bilal, J Davey & Flying Lotus. Last year he released an impressive single titled “Is It Love” from his album The Golden Age of Apocalypse. Last week DC native Diggs Duke released his own version of the track, with a feature from violinist Vaughan Octavia. At first I was a little iffy on if it would give the original it’s due justice, but it definitely does. I’m loving the transition from the violin intro to the the full jazz feel. Not to mention Diggs Duke holds it down on the vocals as well. Which one do you prefer?
