Conscious Effort: Wu-Tang’s GZA Set To Lecture At Harvard

GZA

I think it’s really great to see Hip Hop artists lecturing at different colleges and universities. To name a few, mega-producer 9th Wonder has lectured at both North Carolina Central University, and Duke University. Singer/songwriter/entrepreneur Ryan Leslie has also guest-lectured at New York University. The list doesn’t stop here! Wu-Tang legend GZA is set to guest lecture at the Harvard University. In my eyes…this is a pretty big deal for Hip-Hop. How powerful is it that our message is being taught at Ivy League schools?

GZA steps behind the podium at Harvard’s Black Men’s Forum this upcoming December. He will lecture and give a Q&A on Thursday, December 1st from 1PM to 4PM at an event that is open to the public. His trip will also include an visit to MIT’s Media Lab where he plans to draw inspiration for an album slated for release in 2012 on Babygrande Records.
