Afternoon Podcast: Jeff Staple Talks Live Music Events x Branding W/ Kobi Wu Pasmore, Professor At NYU

As the music business evolves, so does the market, and necessary jobs needed to maintain it. After listening to this podcast, I think I’ve found my woman music business crush. She’s single-handedly created and orchestrated so many great projects, along with partnering up with brands such as Adult Swim, Pepsi, Black Girls Rock, Spotify, and more. Kobi Wu Pasmore, a current professor at NYU talks with Jeff Staple about some of the involving opportunities, within the music industry, the importance of education, and more.
Kobi Wu-Pasmore teaches Curated Live Music Events and Cultural Branding at the Clive Davis Institute at NYU. Harnessing her early background in hip-hop and later experience as Director of Cultural Strategy and Head of Live at SplendidCommunications Group, the experiential marketing professional now imparts this wealth of experience to NYU students across topics in marketing. The course aims to equip students with entrepreneurship ability above the artistic aspects of being a professional musician, sharing insight across touring, performance, brand partnership and engagements. Wu-Pasmore shares her views here with jeffstaple and Scholastic Survey as part of the current caliber of students and what this bodes for the future of the creative music industry.
